Society is the title of a series of works born from reflections that examine the ability of man to relate to his fellow human beings and create complex relationships.
Feature of society is its constant evolution over time. Each of us, with our own personal experiences, contribute to the creation of the society, within which we move and which therefore represents us.
These personal reflections, reworked in a mutual comparison, constitute the basis of our work. Being sisters, with experiences and a shared interpretation, allows us to shape a common visual language.
We use stoneware and porcelain to shape this interpretation of the society. Thick blocks of ceramic doughs are modelled using four hands, until those become thin veils: an ideal fabric to create casings, packages and containers that symbolize society.
Within the artworks individuals are represented with resin and black ceramic tips. Path and relationships between them are traced with intricate webs of threads.
Recurrent and continuous society transformations are found within the movements and the draperies of the ceramic veil, with tractions and twists representing social and personal tensions.
